The pulses of light safely penetrate the skin by stimulating the activity of fibroblasts to restructure, lift, revitalise and tone. By absorbing these light pulses, the targeted cells within in the irregular areas are selectively destroyed by the rise in temperature without damaging the skin and surrounding areas.
Particularly effective in the treatment of skin colour improvement, brown pigmentation caused by sun damage, red veins, rosacea and acne. It can also be used to stimulate collagen anywhere on the body, reducing fine lines and wrinkles as well as firming and toning the skin.
Our patented Anthelia® IPL technology is world-leading and can treat most skin tones unlike similar technologies on the market.
IPL therapy boosts collagen production in several ways, and is used widely to combat fine lines, wrinkles and aging skin.
The first way that IPL therapy for collagen production works, is by sending intermittent pulses of light to target the lower layers of the skin - it passes through the upper layers, leaving the healthy tissue unharmed. When it reaches the lower layers where the collagen structures reside, it causes the tissue to vibrate, causing trauma. This damaged tissue is then removed naturally by the body through the healing process.
Secondly, new collagen is produced allowing for skin rejuvenation. After initiating the body’s repair process, the old, less dense collagen structures are removed and the body tends to be better able to produce new collagen cells after the new tissue has been created. This results in a general improvement to the firmness and texture of skin for a prolonged period following successful IPL therapy.
The last major way is by increasing blood flow to treated areas. Excess heat from the light is absorbed by the surrounding tissue, causing the blood supply to the area to increase and in turn allows for an increased rate of new collagen production.
THE RESULTS?

It’s especially effective on brown pigment spots, liver spots and age spots on the face and hands and most of our clients see significant changes after just a few sessions. Hormonal pigmentation, such as Melasma, which is common during and after pregnancy, or as a result of taking the contraceptive pill can be exacerbated by IPL, so it’s not recommended for this.
